The Association of Lechovo undertook the reestablishment of the library which was completely burnt down by the Germans in 1943. The library contained rich and rare material considering the standards back then, forming a collection of 5,000 books. Today, 8,000 books have been collected with rare archival material on the history of the village and the wider region.

Illustrated children’s book based on real people of Lechovo. The book tells the story of a grandfather with a moustache. The character is based on a real person, namely a doctor who was the husband of the writer. In the story the grandfather goes around Lechovo and experiences multiple adventures with various children. The children are based on the people that grew up in Lechovo. Therefore, it gives an incredible account of the life in Lechovo. While also being a fun story, easily understandable for children.

“Lechovo. A historical process” Panteli P. Oikonomou
Book about Lechovo. It is a historical book that describes the origin of the village, gives more information about the nature and churches, among other information. It is written by a former teacher of the primary school in Lechovo. The book gives an extensive description of the history of the village. The wars, mostly Macedonian Struggle and Second World War, are described in general as well as how these wars affected Lechovo. On the basis of the churches more is told about the religious history of the village and the development if the village buildings. An index in the end makes it easy to look up certain names and key words. Therefore, making this book the primary written source for the history of Lechovo.

Categories, themas and the Dewey Decimal System help find suitable books quicker. Therefore, making it easy to find a specific book you are looking for or a book about a certain topic. The English library is located on the entrance of the library, and is accessible in agreement with the association.
